The Sydney Superdome will be the home for the Gymnastics Competition for the Olympic 2000 Summer games in Sydney, Australia.

Seating up to 20,000 Spectators, the building will be framed by a coronet of masts,as part of the tension cable supported roof. It will serve as the venue for all gymnastic events, as well as basketball.

While at the employ of DDY architects,extensive 3d visualization was done to determine the optimal sightlines for basketball and gymnastics. Animated sunstudies where done to determine the design of the massive awning shielding the glass entry way.
